Help finding hydrolic check and fill plugs on Ford 5000 with auto trans

Can anyone tell me,or better yet,show me with a photo or diagram,where the hydrolic check plug and fill plug are at on my Ford 5000,with an automatic tranny? I've seen some posts for the 8 speed manuals.but not the automatic.I've been told if you take the wrong plug out,you can do massive damage to the internals resulting in having to split it to repair it!

there is no such thing as a 5000 with an auto trans. there was a 10spd SOS which is a full powershfit GEAR tranny though.

hyds on most 65+ machines are common with the rear end. later machines ( manual ) had common sump setups like 5600.. DP and SOS changed the rules a bit.

in any case.. there is a pipe plug on the back left axle trumpet.. you use that to level check rear end UTF fluid.

Call it what you want,it's called "selecto-matic",and has no clutch,only a dump valve.And there is no plug on the axle housing,or trumpet.There are about five different plugs on the right side of the tranny.Just need to know which is which.Thanks for the info though.

'select o matic' is a jukebox made by seeburg

ford cars had a ford o matic tranny in some models.

select o matic is NOT a tractor tranny.

the SOS is a select o speed.. thus the 'SOS'.. note that it is not a 'SOM'

it has an inching pedal.

A plug on the TRANNY won't help you.. rear end and hyds are common.

check the area near the left axle trumpet over again.. right onthe center housing near the pto shaft.. ...

is the plug on the rear end the fill to max hole meaning when it runs out it is full? and just use regular hydro fluid?
