I have a skid steer set of forks, and I'd like to convert them to JD QA. I saw a post on here about a year ago on how to do this and printed it out and promptly lost it. What search terms should I use to dig this up? Or do any of you recall the post? had a couple of nice pictures on it too. Thanks!

ATI makes the Tach-All, of which there are different models to convert any of the more common loader QAs to a skidsteer QA. Here is their brochure, the different models are listed on page 2: http://www.preseeder.com/PDF/TachAllQAFlyer03_05.pdf. Good luck.

I suggest selling your skid steer fork frame and buy a fork frame from Artillian (member/advertiser). It will have the JD QD and should give you a better resulting lift capacity as it is designed specifically for the JD loaders.

I don't have a fork frame. I just have my tractor with JD QA, my bucket to use as a model and the forks which are foregn to me, and a welder and some welding rods.

Then definitely visit Artillian's site. I think he offers a "build it yourself" kit if you don't want to buy the completed attachment.

I built my own, I started with a 3x3x1/4 angle and made an 18"x50" rectangular frame with 2 verticals on each end to make a 6"x18" bearing surface for the loader arms. I then used a short piece of the angle to make the top hooks, just lapped it over the top angle until it was the right hook depth. Then used a piece of flat bar to make an angled slide to make it easier to line up, and also help reinforce the angle bracket. and then 2 pieces of 1 1/4 round bar for the pins. You cant see in these pics but the 1 1/4" round bar goes through the frame and welds to both pieces of angle. I am not good at pictues or writing but it was all pretty easy once I got going. If you need specific pictures I can get them for you, actually I have made several of these. I even made an adapter plate on my skid steer to use my JD attachments.
