I have a Kubota B2400 4x4 HST & 351FEl and want to get a tiller.
I have found 2 countyline 48" tillers and need advice on which might be best
for my 2.5 acres good loamy soil. One is new model TG 48 from Tractor Supply for $1325. The other is a model XB 48 slightly used (bought new Jan 2011) for $1250. I think the model TG 48 is about 600 lbs vs 500 for the XB.
Thanks for your advice.

How much was the xb new?,,, I got a used one for $500, but the blades were toast so I got new ones for $235?? About, now it works like new

There doesn't seem to be a lot of $ saved. In the used one, with the new one you"ll get a warranty

The owner said he paid $1325 for the XB in Jan. I would much rather buy the
new one from a money standpoint. The owner of the XB says that it is better
design for my tractor than is the TG model. I can,t see any difference by just
looking other than the 100 lbs weight .

That 100 lb will make it stay in the ground better. May not help on loose soil, but will cut sod better.

I had a deposit on. The 60" TSC TILLER until I came across the used one, I thought that for the price the TSC tiller was a deal, if you wait they do drop them $100 every once in while , the store manager has the option to discount it

I use a Woods GTR60 reverse rotation on my BX2350. Some might say that it is a little too big at 60" but I find that if I don't go at a break neck speed it works very well in my heavy clay soil. Forward rotation is easier on the tractor but the reverse rotation dose a much better job at burying weeds and such. My tiller weighs in at 496#'s and has a slip clutch instead of a shear bolt, with the amount of rocks that I have I would have to be buying shear bolts by the freight car load.

I'm buying a 48" Taylor-Pittsburg tiller new for $1200 at Barlows a week from Saturday. I wouldn't spend new money on a used machine with no warranty.
