I would like to get a little more speed out of my mule for running between fields. Anybody have some detail on what steps to take? I don't want much but 5-10 or so more mph would be great. Thanks for any help.

Rumor has it that 4000 rpm is the break point for normal use. Literally. They don't like high rpms. Not sure what the weak link is.

Mine is a diesel and the throttle set up is very different I discovered....and much easier to work on. I just tweaked the limiter set screw a bit and tightened all my linkages taking the play out of it and allowing it to open up fully. This gave me about 28mph compared to the 22 I was getting. So now it has adequate speed and is still totally stock as far as max rpm's. I did put on a 2" lift with 26" 489's and an Essex hartop/windshield. It made the mule a real machine and looks a whole lot better, too.
