I took a part my deck, sandblasted, painted, and am replacing a bunch of worn parts.

Can anyone help me out? I need a more detailed picture of the spring loaded pins that attach the top of the deck to the hanger and the u-shaped spring loaded bolts? THere are several holes and I can't recall the proper orientation of all the holes and the bolts. I want to make sure I get it right.

The area I am speaking of is the middle roller at the top of the deck with the spring loaded pins.

The images in the parts/owners catalogs I have are horrible and I can't see anything.

Thanks for anyone that can help me out!

OK. One more question.

How do you mount the spring on the exit guard so that it holds the guard with the proper tension?

THanks!!

May not be able to provide a lot of help here. I have never removed the bolt that would allow the guard to swing up. The spring is mostly hidden under the bulge in the guard, but maybe you can tell something from this.

THanks for the Pictures. I have the 72" which must have a different spring mounting mechanism. My spring is much larger and sits atop the guard. The long bolt that holds the guard runs through the middle of the spring. Like this:

IO just found this pic. I guess you have to place the guard through the pin with the spring loose, then somehow twist the spring to get the tension on it?

Seems like that might be difficult.

That spring is a lot different! I do remember now seeing that larger one on the 72. I agree with your guess, but it may not require much of any twisting. The spring may be large enough that just installing it will hold things.
