Hello !!!

Glad to have found this forum. I have had my toolcat since the fall of 2003. I don't know how I got by without it before. It replaced a tractor, bushhog and skid-steer. I've had a few small problems, but nothing major.

The problem I'm having now is that the engine temp. gauge is showing overheating even when the machine has just started. The ! warning light also comes on.

I wonder if this is a sensor problem or if something more serious is broke.

some of the older models have had small electric. issues. Most likely a sensor. A dealer can plug it in and find out the issue for you.

Thanks for the reply. I believe you are correct, it most likley a sensor problem. One time a couple of years ago it started dragging the rear wheels. Don't remember the error code, but I believe it stated "rear wheel speed sensor". Replaced the sensor, but it still dragged the wheels. Talked to the parts man at Bobcat and he said to spray some contact cleaner in the connection where the wire plugs in. That fixed it, hasn't done it since.

Be sure to check the area between the two radiators. It usually gets all clogged up with gunk. Raise and stabilize the bed, remove the screen over the radiator, then lift up and support the top radiator. You will likely see all kinds of stuff that shoudn't be there.

Thanks Matt. I found that out not long after getting my Toolcat. Started overheating, so I called the dealer and they sent a service man out. He raised the oil cooler and there was a mat of stuff there. I felt pretty dumb. Not had a problem with overheating since.
