Tractor
ford 6610
Hello people yes this is my first time here and I have to say this seems to be a great site ( it is the people involved that make the site ) and I want to say a big thanks to the modorators and all who make this site possible all too often these behind the scenes folks never get the credit they so richly deserve.
I am in a rural section of central fla. and working a mid sized cattle ranch that has just aquired what seems to be a Ford 6610, I am finding new things about this machine every day and am pouring over the boards with the wealth of information in them, as you might guess I am grateful for having this "jack pot" to go to.
under the there is no such thing as a stupid question catagory-
something that I have not found is a PDF of an owner/operators or repair manual?? if some one who knows could direct me or shall I have to breakdown and spend the $ to buy one??

this tractor came to us used but not used up I should emphasize USED! ! it has a ROPS cab w/no doors and most of the electrical stuff is inop. and it is a little rough around the edges though after doing some fluid changes and adjustments over the last couple weeks now I am happy to say that I have been mowing with it for the last several days ! :) though I have a pesky fuel leak that demands attn.
thanks again to all and happy motoring 6ft5guy

Welcome to TBN, and of course this forum is for introductions. So you've done that, now let me suggest that you go to the Ford/New Holand Owning/Operating forum and post your question about manuals there. I think more people who might have an answer are likely to see it there.

Hello Shorty;), and welcome to TBN. To find a manual for your tractor, go to this link or this one. Type your tractor model (6610) under Model and then click on Search. You will get a list of manuals you can load into a shopping cart and download in PDF form.

hey and THANKS to you both Bri and Jinman , it is nice to feel welcome the truth is that I feel a bit at home already.
found an old birds and dirt daubbers nests in the secondary filter housing today as the duck bill is off the drain tube and the end plate is no where to be found at least the secondary filter is on it, NAPA's got a filter and I think that I can fab up an end plate and rig a duck bill a real prefilter housing would be nice if any one reads this and has one, I live in N.E. central Fl. also I noticed that the radiator is 50 to 65% clogged up with organic matter preventing air flow/heat transfer. a metal screen from the hardware store does a fine job of keeping the bugs out of the radiator on my Dodge truck, has anyone tried this trick on a tractor??
thanks again for all the support

It's amazing what you find on equipment. You'd think some folks expect it to take care of itself. It sounds like you have a plan for restoring the 6610. Here is another link to a place where I downloaded manuals for my LB75B New Holland Backhoe. They have the full 2500 pg + repair manual available for around $60. That's not much to spend when you consider what the tractor is worth and what the manual can save you in time and mistakes.

hey there Jinman thanks for the link and you are right on for the info you get it is well worth that cost.
got the radiator clean like new but man what a chore picking each little pocket between the cooling fins and the core tubes :confused2:but the end result is the way that it is supposed to be  now it can transfer heat and keep it's cool.
this is a working tractor and while I am not intending to "restore" it I need to be able to use it without worring about it, I'm not the type of guy to just run something till it drops then complain that something broke or failed some how while I am in the middle of doing some kind of chores. an ounce of prevention pound of cure deal. again many thanks for your input
see ya
