Been following your April, forget the year, CAV DPA pump discussion on: The bleed port pumps a great fuel squirt but zero fuel to the injectors.

Model is 2858 on a '65 Ford 3000. No problems with the pump for many years. Fuel fresh, plenty of fuel at fuel supply line to/at the pump when opened...gushes out.
2 days ago I ran for 2.5 hrs in 97F ambient temp, tractor temp needle mid scale, rpms 1800-1900...PTO 1800 for 540, down in 2nd of 8 gears due to high weeds I was hogging. Came back yesterday, running like a sewing machine, same setup and after 3.5 hours is just decided to slow down to 0 rpms in 2x the time it shuts down when I deliberately kill it. Won't light off on starter.

I have not checked the flow return to the pump as yet as I just learned that it could be an issue if clogged. I do know that fuel is returned to the tank as I can see the fuel swirling with the engine running. The return line to the pump is vertical and comes off the front end of the injectors overflow tube.....the rear end connects to the fuel tank return. I will be disconnecting the return line at the pump when I get back at the task.

The question is, if the problem isn't return line associated and something is stuck internally, is there a method whereby I could lubricate, maybe using penetrating oil and moving something external to unstick it? The run and stop studs coming up and out of the pump rotate normally and I tried multiple positions of both and still no fuel at a cracked injector line.

Comments appreciated by anyone that can/will assist.

I got the lid off awhile ago and it seems that the fuel flow paddle/valve that is controlled by the throttle and the counter spring is no longer operated by the throttle. Seems the shaft has stripped out of the arm controlled by the throttle rod.
