Hello, Kubota M125X

Well, I got a price on a M125X today. Dealer is about 60 miles from the house and will pickup and deliver for free. Everyone seems super nice at this place and they have good service department from what I can see. Also, talked to a few owners that where getting parts or having service work done. All seem very happy with this particular dealership. Said the owners wanted customers happy. Wow, that's a fading concept around here.

Quoted me a fully loaded M125X w/loaded tires LA1601S with 96" bucket, flow control valve, dual lift kit, front fenders, fuel tank guard, CD radio, rear window defogger, mid mount light kit, right remote fender switch, and creep speed kit..............................................$57,490.00.

Also, will be getting a Land pride RC6015 Heavy duty cutter. Quoted price of 10,000, but could add some options to this. This one had chain guards, and the hydraulic control of the decks already on it.

I am just happy to be getting a tractor with Cab and Air. However, I'll probably not get to use it very much as the wife will probably claim it as hers. Oh, well at least I can drive little "blue" as we call her.

I went a head and got the creep kit even though I don't think I will use it very much, but I plan on keeping this tractor along with its cousin forever; at least that's what the wife is saying. LOL.

Thats a very good price on that tractor. Couple that with a good dealer and that would be a deal thats hard to pass up.

I would recommend getting deck rings and double row front and rear chains as well as dual center and wing wheels and airplane tires. I know that sounds like a lot but if your going to buy something buy it right!

The deck rings keep the blade from flexing up into the deck if you hit something and trust me it will happen and you'll get big circles in the top of your deck where the blades have hit into it. The double row chains just offer more protection than the singles. The dual center and wing wheels and airplane tires are a must have in my opinion. The dual wheels give you more flotation over rough and uneven ground. If one wheel goes in a hole the cutter stays level because the other wheel is holding it up and same goes for the wings. If a single wheel on a wing falls in a hole it will hit into the ground and the dual wheels would support the weight of the wing better than a single wheel would. The advantage of the airplane tires is more flotation as well because they have more give than the laminated tires which have none. Both you and the machine will get a lot smoother ride with them. I know because I have machines with both type of tires.

I had not given any thought to the dual wheels on the deck or the deck rings or chains. I'll give them a call, and see what that will add to the package on this tractor. Thanks for replying and offering great insight. This is the biggest tractor we will own and any help is appreciated.

Glad to help. I think your making the right choice going with a Kubota. I really like all the M series tractors espicially the 105 and 125 X series. One you get used to that 16 spd 8 spd powershift transmission you wont want to go back to a straight gear tractor again.

That is a serious piece of machinery you're getting! I would love to have enough land just so I could justify getting that tractor. It's hard to justify getting the M8540 like I'm planning with 16 acres. I know it's overkill but I'm into overkill. I just love the M-series so much. Once you get it home be sure to post some pictures and include some action shots! Congratulations on the new addition to your family!

Glowplug, you're getting the 8540 for 16 acres? Those acres must need a lot of work! But I know what you mean. Those big tractors look like a lot of fun.

Well, they do need a bit of work. I'm actually looking at getting the adjacent 12 acres. Owner selling it but asking steep price. That would give me 28 acres. They need even more work. It would be a great landscape for a pond too. Also I would take it to my inlaws' land once or twice monthly to do some clearing and bush-hoggin'. They have about 50 acres. But truthfully, the 8540 is way overkill for me. I know it is and I'll be the first to admit it. But I do love that big tractor. If I had to choose between that tractor and my wife it would be a pretty tough decision!
