Kubota L48
Hello everyone,
I just registered. I'm a proud new owner of an L48, which is my first tractor. I was going to start with something smaller, but I've heard many people say better to err on the side of bigger.
Most of my tractor work is on my own wooded lots, often tree related, so a FOPS was important to me.
Anyway, see ya soon

Welcome aboard!!! A little hint for you,,,, these guys are like a bunch of playground kids. They all are attracted by pictures. Just like kids attracted by a bag of candy. Add some pictures of the new tractor and you'll be a recognized member very soon!!!! :D

I take a lot of digital pics, but have poor skills at getting them on message boards. I tried to insert an image using the URL to imageshack, but it didn't work.. any tips?

Hey Podunk, I got some property in LA (lower Alabama), ever been to Atmore?

here's what an L 48 looks like when changing all the oil and filters,,, three days ago before it got cold and snow flurries again.

I surely hope you are joking, no way I'd be crawling under something like that (without some blocking)....

I'm in the southeastern corner...eastern side roughly 20 miles NNE of Dothan. Never been to Atmore, but have heard it mentioned many times. I have an old Navy buddy who lived in Bay Minette (sp). Heard him talk about going to Atmore many times. You are in the heart of the "redneck riviera" over there. Killed a lot of brain cells (back in the day) at the FloraBama Lounge...You ever been there?

Awesome pic! Thanks for taking the time to post it. I'd be a little leary of climbing under it to change the oil, but on the same token, I've been in worse (and much more unsafe) places.

The easiest (and probably best) way to do it is to first save the image on your computer somewhere. Then when you are putting in a new reply go down to the bottom of the screen and click on [Manage Attachments]. A pop-up box then comes up. Click on [Browse]. Then browse to the folder location where that picture is stored. When you find your picture click it once and then click on [Open]. Then click on [Upload]. That uploads your image to your post. It may take a few seconds depending on your image size. By the way, it's a good idea to resize large images to smaller ones before inserting them. I use Microsoft's free image resizer. It's a free download from their website. I usually downsize the images to either small or medium before inserting them. That usually puts them less than 100KB. When you insert a 700KB or larger photo it's a royal pain for everyone involved and the quality is not at all noticeably different.

I hope that helps. It sounds complicated in a verbal instruction form but it is in realiality very easy. See, I just put one in!!;)

Love your sign in name "Oliver Wendell Douglas". Say hi to Mr. Haney, he was my favorite. hope your tractor is better then the one Mr. Douglas had, it was a " Hoyt Clagwell". Don't think we have any listed on this board !!!.
Thanks for the laugh. Jack

Oh my Put the loader back on, You castrated your Tractor. Your an evil man Chuck.

Oh, I will. It just is so much easier to mow the "tight" paddocks with the loader removed.

That IS a great sign in name. I wish I would've thought of it.

Still waiting on the pics OWD!

Wow, thanks everyone for the reception and the help. The only remotely relevant picture I have access to at the moment is the one of the item I’m selling to help pay for the tractor… this bike has 110 ft lbs of torque …. Located in Northern Virginia if anyone is interested…. Heck, I might even consider taking some tractor related stuff in trade….

Sweet bike, even if it's a Hardly Ableson...just playin. Just like tractors, I am fond of all bikes, whether sport, cruiser, dirt, drag, Jap, German, Italian or American... you name it!

Nice touch with the header wraps. Again...sweet bike!

A pic of my babies...both the sportbikes are sold now...too wise to ride them anymore.
