I am a new member from central Kentucky. I have a 28 acre Hobby Farm in Madison County with gently rolling land but a few steep spots going to the river that you have to be very careful with on a tractor. I heard this forum referenced while on another tractor forum and decided to take a look. Looks like a lot of discussion and advice, so I decided to join. I hope to make it a two way street. I have a lot of tractor experience with both gas and diesels, Dad put me on a tractor when I was 8 and could reach the pedals. I have operated both for almost 60 years now. Bought my first gasser, 53 NAA. in 1974 and finished restore in 1975 when I moved to WVa on 35 acres. Purchased my first diesel last June and am a real newbie in the maintenance and upkeep area. I am here mainly to learn about diesels, and also share some experiences with old gassers. Hope I can pass along some useful information. I also include my last three restore projects since retirement. Truck was a complete body off frame that took 14 months.

Nice work on the restorations, I especially like the NAA. Welcome to TBN from Missouri.

I used the left over paint from the 4000 to repaint the NAA. It has always been red/gray for the 45 years I have had it. I am still getting used to the new colors, but they are growing on me. My neighbor almost died when he saw what I did, but rust was starting to show on the fenders and sheet metal and had to do minor work to prevent a bigger job later on. With spending over $2600 replacing tires last fall, I simply could not afford the $250 for red/gray paint. Here is what it looked like before last fall. My third grandson is a pretty good artist and repainted the Jubilee emblem in blue. I hand painted the Ford labels in blue, but too unsteady to do the emblem.
