Hello all! Price Good? Fair?

First off, thanks for all of the posts that I have read and learned so much from.

I have been lurking around some here, and am in the market for my first tractor. Well at least my first tractor in 25 years. I have been away making a living and have now retired and returned to WV to semi-retire (code word for play).

I have two real choices, one green and one orange. The rest are over 100 miles away the these two are 28 and 32 respectively.

I am leaning towards this:

Kubota Grand L3240 HSTC
Ag Tires (filled)
Stoll FEL
Delivered
Price: $26,900.00

I'm not sure if this is a good or just a fair price?

Not sure what a stoll loader is? The better Kubota factory loader is the LA724. Price does not sound horrible. Check with Brady Barlow to get an idea on pricing.

Yup, great place to start, do lots of research, both externally and internally before you jump. Spring is coming but not here, yet. So much of what to get is determined by what you want to do...FEL lift, weight of tractor for digging, maneuverability (size), there is no real wrong tractor, just one that is more correct for you. LOTS of very experienced people here to help. Color don't matter cause all the tires are Black!

I had to look around for a Stoll loader, had never heard of one before. Looks to be German. Just wondering why not the Kubota loader?

The L3240 cab is for sure a fine tractor. With 25 PTO hp it could be a little weak if you have much heavy rotary mowing to do and want to run a 6' mower.

The reason for looking at the Stoll Loader is the Stoll is $700.00 cheaper and comes with the Skid Steer Q/A where the dealer says the Kubota you have to pay/add extra for the Q/A.

I have looked over both on the lot, and the Stoll frame is much beefy-er. However, maybe there is a much better price point for the dealer. That was his recommendation.

I did think that maybe I do not need the extra weight of the beefy-er frame and it might be over kill, but does save $700.00.

Thoughts?

If your a trader/seller, you'll loose more money by not having a Kubota FEL. If your life history shows you keep cars, trucks, stuff until it dies, then don't worry about it.

The extra weight means decreased lift compasity .

One advantage of going with a Kubota loader is that it'll be engineered NOT to break the tractor. It's possible for a loader to be too beefy or too strong and place stresses on the tractor that it wasn't meant to take.

Plus, if anything does go wrong with the tractor/loader interface, Kubota will be blaming the loader manufacturer and vice versa. For peace of mind alone, I'd stay with Kubota if possible.

You may need a little more HP. WV has hills as I recall, many of them steep and the L3240 cab version isn't exactly a light weight. I think there's two or three frame sizes in the L-series lineup. You can determine the basic sizes by comparing tractor weights on the spec sheets. You might want to look at the model that has the most HP in the 3240's frame size.

Ok, thanks for the comments and I have revised my request from the dealer to have the Kubota loader in stead.

Price: $28,300.00

How does this look? I think it is still a little high but, I'm new at this.

I did do a Barlow configure yesterday afternoon, but have not heard back yet.

Wow, $1400 more for the Kubota loader. I can see why you have to think hard about it. I wish it was a Bush Hog loader or one of the other after market players. Until you mentioned Stoll I don't think I had ever heard it mentioned on the forum.
