Mowing Hedge/grass cutting machinery?

I currently run a little Kubota (L1500) towing a 95cm flail mower. This cuts the grass in my orchard very nicely without getting too bothered by the molehills. But I also wish to cut my hedges with the same device; in order to do so, I am considering buying a long reach flail mower. Before I make an expensive mistake, would such a machine cope properly with both tasks?
