Any suggestions? EA is about 16 weeks out and I need something before then. New or used!

Where are you located? I have a woods trp I think model 7500. Was my dads but he passed and I nor my mom will ever use it. Excellent condition located in Michigan.

I see it says you are in northern Ohio. Give me a pm.

Are you sure it will do the job? They are best for use over prepared ground that has become rutted - like rodeo arenas and such. It sure would be nice if you could borrow one to see if it is what you want. Around here people often loan each other implements. Most fairgrounds have one or several and they use them a lot.

The one I use is a heavy duty 84"' with an angling rake, a flip down grader blade, end caps, and two trailing wheels adjustable for height. That makes it close to a $3000 implement - which seems crazy, but it turns out that you will want all of those features depending on just much manicuring you want to do when restoring a manicured dirt or gravel surface. It's a nice tool for the few jobs it can do, but it's not a very heavy duty tool for brush or rocks. Using it on anything rougher than prepared ground clogs it up and rocks would ruin it pretty quickly.

So far I see it as an implement really good for raking & surfacing corrals, pens, and riding/roping arena - and maybe driveways if not too rutted... but not much good for anything else.

But maybe I'm wrong about that and someone else has found another use for one. If so, I'd like to hear around it.

Check out Befco landscape rakes. I just received their 6' standard duty (rated to 65hp) rake. 3/8" and 1/2" steel is used on the frame and rake. Weight is about 250#, welds look good and has good paint. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet so I can't comment on how well it will hold up. From my research, Befco has a good reputation for quality products that will last. Price was about $1050.

It is replacing a 25 year old light duty King Kutter LR rake that has done a good job of pushing up brush, shrubs, limbs and trees into a pile for burning or hauling away with the grapple. This new Befco LR will used the same way with very little dirt work.

I have a York rake very similar except for the trailing wheels. It is very heavy duty.

That is one concern I have. I had a lot of trees taken down over the winter with an excavator. Sticks, roots, etc sticking out of the ground. Would like to be able to get the worst of it up and out. The grapple on the excavator did a pretty good job, but leaves a lot to clean up before I could start to level out the ground to prepare for seeding.
