Kubota L3130DT
I've had this problem for years with my Kubota L3130 and the weak la513 loader. It will lift whatever I try but will ultimately develop a leak. It's so annoying. I've replaced the seals many times but that drip comes back. Has anyone found a direct replacement for the 2 bucket cylinders on this loader? I was watching a guy on YouTube replacing cylinders on his JD FEL but he had to cut the rods and had to completely modify the cylinders. I don't have the skill or the tools to do this. Just done with these leaks and can't really afford to swap out the whole FEL for the better one. Thanks

Try taking some measurements or remove one of the cylinders and take it to a local hydraulic shop and see what they say about it. We have a local hydraulic shop which does a lot of agricultural and heavy equipment. You probably do, too.

Thanks. I was hoping someone's been through this and knew of a direct swap.

Where is the leak? At the rod?

I am assuming you have a damaged rod (dent or ding) or a bent rod that is wiping out your new seal in short order.

The odds of finding a cylinder with all the correct specs, diameter, length, pin sizes, etc is gonna be like finding a needle in a haystack. A direct replacement from kubota or having a shop modify one or custom make one is likely the only options.

Each cylinder on my 40 year old loader developed leaks at the rod,,

I took off the first one, and found the rod had no resistance, you could move the rod like the slide of a trombone!!

Rather than tackle it myself, I had a local hydraulics shop install new seals,,
The cylinder came back in two days, and it was perfect!!

I then removed the other, and they rebuilt that one also,,

The cylinders have been perfect for quite a while now,,,:cool2:

Possibly,,, seals at the rod of a cylinder are not a "DIY" type thing?
