Heard something interesting last week...

Stopped by my dealer's for a social visit last week.

There was a guy there sitting next to the manager/salesman's desk, who I though was a customer.

I was quickly introduced to the guy who was a Kubota district "something or other..."

My first question was "when is a BH75 backhoe going to be available for my B2910? I want to trade my 3PH BL4690 in on one!"

One thing lead to another, and the district rep (or whatever he was) said that a new BX type TLB was going to come out, something based on the B7500 size frame, but being essentially a larger BX23 type unit. A TLB from the ground up, more or less from what I heard.

Just thought I would mention it here...don't know if it is true or not, but it sure would be a sweet package if it is, and knowing Kubota, I would not be surprised... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Anyone else hear anything along these lines?

Although I'm very happy with what I have, had that been available when I was looking I probably would have bought it. In other words, about time.

I hope it isn't true. I only have 14 hours on my 2410. I can't justify trading it in already.

If that is true it would make for a very nice TLB setup. I had a hard enough time however convincing the significant other that I needed the BX23 - I don't think I would be able to convince her I needed to trade it in on a new tractor when this one only has 170 hours and 6 months of use time. It would be a nice thing to get in a few years though....

I seriously considered a B21 over my 7610, loader and BH. However, 4 or 5 thousand bucks more for the B21 over what I was already spending was a bit too much. But, if they are going to release a new model integrated TLB for us non-commercial users that would be real nice. Too bad it'll be a year late for me.

Dave, apparently it is not a B21 replacement, but something more along the lines of the BX23, but just bigger. But smaller than the B21, which is about the same size as a B7800/B2910/B3030(I assume).

It sounded like it will be something between the size of the BX23 and the B3030, using future speak. The B21 while size wise in the same area as the B3030, is a more heavy duty unit, in a different class...during our conversation it was specifically stated that this new machine would not be a replacement for the B21.

Do you know if Kubota has any plans in the immediate future to revise the B21 like the L39?

The only problem with a "true TLB" is that that's what it is a...TLB. It's no longer a CUT. Unless you are a commercial user with specific needs and lots of ditching or BH work, the TLB doesn't sound like a good fit for the average BX/B type of person on a residential property. What about mowing your lawn? Is it going to be a pain to remove the BH if it even comes off.....Will the loader be removable?....Most true TLBs do not have removable loaders. It will likely not accept a MMM due the the hardware underneath for a more serious BH. I guess we shall see this spring.

I don't know, Jim...it sounds like what Henro was refering to was something that is just scaled up from the BX22/23 size machine but similarly configured. Given that the BX uses a "regular" FEL and just adds the 4-pt BH without taking away the ability to use other implements, such as a MMM, this supposed new machine could be a real hit with folks...and without the bad things you mention about the "true TLB" motif.

Such a machine would fall right into my requirements because the BX23 setup lacks in ground clearance (I'll be in the woods quite a bit), and especially loader lift capacity (600+ lb. logs). As stated before, hopefully this new machine will have the 4-pt hoe hookup and be more forgiving with the mmm, etc.

My question is, when will this machine come into view? At least some literature would be helpful.

Probably March according to my Sacramento Kubota dealer. There is another thread here in Kubota Buying/Pricing about the new New B2630/B3030 that points to a web site with some specs about the two tractors.

I heard about it last month and when I asked about the price, I almost fell over. The base price for the tractor without anything on it.... no loader, no backhoe, etc... bare bones is about $18000. I have no idea what market that Kubota is going after, but you need deep pockets to buy this new tractor with all the trimmings. The only thing that it is going to have in common with the BX is the orange paint and the Kubota decals. I believe that the HP starts at 35 horses....

You could be right, or maybe your dealer was referring to yet another soon to be announced model...

The impression I got from the guy I talked to was that what he was referring to was a scaled up BX, a B7500-sized machine based on the same package design that is used on the BX22/23.

I certainly don't know whether this is fact or fiction though. Sure sounds like it would be a nice package. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are times I'd like to have a bigger machine, but $18K just for the tractor--WOW. MY CFO would never go for that.

I must just be too cheap, and I'm living in ag country, but if I needed to go 30-50HP, I'd have to go for an old utility tractor for under $10K (even if I had to rebuild the motor) and add implements as needed. That would give me all the power I ever wanted at a much more affordable price.

For example, I might be in the market for a harley power rake in the next few years. The price of them alone is out of site, but if I hook it up with a $5K tractor, I could live with that. No way pricewise could I hook it to an $18K Kubota.

Just my cheap streak showing through...........

If this is true I will have to start looking for reasons to trade in my BX23 on one of these. Too bad they weren't out this summer as it sounds like this would have been the perfect package for what I have been using my BX for. There have been a bunch of times when I wished the BX was just a little bit bigger with just a little more power. Guess I will have to keep my eyes open to see if anything shows up at that local Kubota dealer.
