Very odd that even though all you Canadians (almost, more on that in a sec) pretty much agree that your "free" health care is far from free and definitely not top notch, yet our socialists in control think they can deceive us into believing this is what we want.... huh...

They should spend some time at Eastern Maine Medical Center up in Bangor investigating, and explaining, why their parking lot, despite being more than a hundred miles from the nearest Canadian boundary, has so many Canadian license plates in the parking lot.

I have had one Canadian tell me his health care is exceptional. Just prior to flashing me a special card he got because his wife is a public sector employee. Why would a government employee get a better deal? That doesn't sound quite right....

Yes, I have healthcare. I work for it, I pay for it, and I like the results. I'd be a cripple right now if not for it. The government has NO business in health care. If they would get out of the mess they've made of it already, it would become cheaper and better.

Before I got into the VA, paid WELL over $1000 a month between wife and me.
Went to my provider once, when I needed a medical device, and was told I would have to pay $600 for it, government worker who was getting same device, "Oh yours is covered". Here in California, Gov employees can retire at 50 with 90% of their highest pay. Nice.

I absolutely love my doctor and will go to him no matter what.
I've seen enough friends and family with various needs, to know which hospital to go with.
I've shopped around for insurance and have a policy that will keep the hospital, labs and others at a pre-negotiated price.

All-in-all, it works. I have the freedom to choose who cares for my family, and I've been able to shop for a policy that works for me. Best of all, I did it without burdening anyone else. I've taken my health care and that of my families into my own hands and feel a certain amount of confidence in the providers I've chosen.

I'm not smart enough to know what they're voting on today, but it'd be a crying shame if I couldn't maintain the liberty I've enjoyed to date.

We may have to be careful with this topic to avoid politics that are prohibited on TBN. Now I don't know how your health care compares to ours, but . . . I thought maybe my costs would go down a bit when we got old enough to get on Medicare. Well, now we're on Medicare and we pay $298 a month for the medigap, or Medicare Supplement, insurance, $280 a month for Medicare Part D (prescription medicines), I pay $110.50 and she pays $97 a month for Medicare Part B, then we pay $48.96 a month for some very limited dental insurance and $10.29 a month for very limited vision insurance. Yep, $844.75 a month.:(

Now you know that The last thing I would want to do is to start a controversy!:)

Yeah kinda happy. The plan i got is about the best i can do. I've set up a HSA($2500 deduct, which i think everyone should have) thru my own business. The "business" pays for it, but it basically takes out of possible profits. The wonderful state of maine only allows a couple of ins companies to sell in this state. So my rates is $778 a month for the family. I'm 45 yrs old.

This B.S. that is going on right now, on the fed level, is not right, not right at all. I don't know what the answer is, but this isn't it. Be curious how much the enrollment drops for new docs this fall after high school graduation.

In my humble opinion, YES!!!!!!!!! Really what is this bill going to do except provide health care for people who won't chose there health care over a new car or vacation. Most of these people dress much better then most and have the latest cell phones and gadgets.Besides getting government subtleties of rent and heat and food. Most people know and realize that we have an obligation to ourselves and to our family to provide health care. This really ticks me off!

Actually it doesn't provide health "care",it provides health "insurance". The two may not be synonymous.

Of course, there are many things I do NOT understand, but the billing system is one. Both before Medicare and now, the providers usually submit a huge bill and the insurance company (or Medicare) will then show the amount "allowed" or the pre-negotiated amount, usually one-third to one-fourth of the amount originally billed and payment is based on that amount. This seems to be true of doctors, hospitals, labs, dentists, etc. In fact, it's been true of every provider we've known of except . . . our primary care physicians (both hers and mine) work in the same clinic and they only bill Medicare for the exact amount that Medicare allows. They are the only ones I know of who do that.

If you DID understand the billing system, I would nominate you to MENSA:)
Here in California, Walgreens just announced that they will not accept any new pharmacy scrips from Medicare.
You are VERY lucky to have found doctors, who obviously care more about their patients, then their pocketbooks.
Pray that they stay in business.

Just to keep it safe:)
I am in the VA system here in San Diego, and am very pleased with it, But I have heard that in other parts
of the country, care is not so good.

The VA system is something they should expand for everyone.

The elitist system for the rest of us doesn't work. There should be NO insurance, just like there isn't education insurance, police insurance, road insurance . . . . all the other taxes I pay, why health insurance? Its because there is more money to made from health.
