On the day of a historic vote, just wondering how many people out there are happy with their health care.
Do you think we need to "reform"the system?

In Canada we have "free" health care. Funny but for my wife and I we pay $102 every month to get mandatory "free" health care. That's $1,224 every year. :mad: Plus we pay taxes for health care. For the "free" health care privilege people up our way sometimes have to wait months if not years for medical treatment. Kind of sad but I sometimes think if they wait you out long enough you die before receiving treatment and that saves them lots of money. People with money sometimes go to the USA and get looked at right away. If you have something serious wrong you want to be looked after now.

I heard the Treasurer of the State of Massachucehts on the News this AM say that if this health bill goes through the US will be bankrupt in 4 years. He said it is basically the same as the health care they have implemented in Mass. and if it were not for money from the Federal Govt. Mass would have gone bankrupt and he added, who is going to bail out the US Government...answer ...no one and therefore bankruptcy...Very Scary stuff here.

Politics = Closed thread.

If you're about to type, "I probably shouldn't say this but,...", don't.

Just to keep it safe:)
I am in the VA system here in San Diego, and am very pleased with it, But I have heard that in other parts
of the country, care is not so good.

Very odd that even though all you Canadians (almost, more on that in a sec) pretty much agree that your "free" health care is far from free and definitely not top notch, yet our socialists in control think they can deceive us into believing this is what we want.... huh...

They should spend some time at Eastern Maine Medical Center up in Bangor investigating, and explaining, why their parking lot, despite being more than a hundred miles from the nearest Canadian boundary, has so many Canadian license plates in the parking lot.

I have had one Canadian tell me his health care is exceptional. Just prior to flashing me a special card he got because his wife is a public sector employee. Why would a government employee get a better deal? That doesn't sound quite right....

Yes, I have healthcare. I work for it, I pay for it, and I like the results. I'd be a cripple right now if not for it. The government has NO business in health care. If they would get out of the mess they've made of it already, it would become cheaper and better.

We may have to be careful with this topic to avoid politics that are prohibited on TBN. Now I don't know how your health care compares to ours, but . . . I thought maybe my costs would go down a bit when we got old enough to get on Medicare. Well, now we're on Medicare and we pay $298 a month for the medigap, or Medicare Supplement, insurance, $280 a month for Medicare Part D (prescription medicines), I pay $110.50 and she pays $97 a month for Medicare Part B, then we pay $48.96 a month for some very limited dental insurance and $10.29 a month for very limited vision insurance. Yep, $844.75 a month.:(
