Headlight guards

Has anyone fashioned some kind of headlight guard? I mow around some trees, usually too close, and I end up with branches stuck in between the headliner and the windshield. I even managed to pull out (and break) one of the headlight bulbs by having the wire snag on a branch.

Any ideas?

I have a similiar problem with my rear view side mirrors...as they are non-removable, both are now cracked.
