I replaced my headgasket on my tractor I've been told that you should get the engine warm then go back in and make sure your head bolts are torque to the right lbs, would it hurt if I didn't go back in and check or will it be ok to run the machine

Thanks

If you're doing it on that MF 180 it is very important to do. Then go back in another 75-100 hours & do it again too. There were some issues with head gaskets on those tractors & keeping proper torque on the bolts is important.

I won't let any Perkins go without retorqing the head. Fill with coolant, remove fan belt so engine will get up to 180-190 degrees quicker, then remove rocker shaft assy and retorque. When I worked for MF dealer we never did retorque at 100 hours, never had any major trouble.
