head gasket on 1085

I need to change the head gasket on a 1085 and was wondering how hard it is and how long it will take? The tractor is in the middle of nowhere and can't be hauled in. I have a head gasket set should I give it a shot?

A 1085 has a 318 Perkins, the early ones had, head bolts, and were later changed to, head studs with nuts. The early ones were prone to blow head gaskets and this is reason for the change. When the head gasket is changed the surfaces have to be correct or you will loose the gasket again. If you have the early style, head bolts, they can be changed to the studs with nuts.
