With my new to me B7610 the PO, previous owner, changed the hydro fluid just before I picked it up so I dont know how much he put in........The question is: When does one check the fluid at the dipstick under the seat......before starting, while running, or just after stop the engine????????

When I check it before starting the dipstick is dry.

After running but engine stopped, fluid is up the dipstick to the full mark............

SO....what is the proper procedure for checking the hydro fluid level?????

Everything seems to work just fine so NOT that low, but truly wonder........thanks and God bless.......Dennis

After setting over night check it before starting and on level surface.

For some unknown reason, some B series tractors will not show anything on the dipstick after sitting for some? time. This has been discussed here before-a search may bring up an old thread. The solution is to reinsert the dipstick and the fluid will show up-full I suspect in your case. Our B is this way.Good Luck!

Number Two......thanks for the thoughts....I tried and tried not only here but a couple of other forums for the search; but decided to ask here as the folks seem more realistic.........

So, what to do??? If I check the fluid level after letting it run for a bit it is full and just right; but if I let it sit overnight the dipstick is dry as a bone even if I reinsert the dipstick several times. I really dont want to take a chance on blowing out some transmission or other seal by overfilling it...............

More thoughts?..........thanks guys.........God bless.......Dennis

check after it has sat a while. You would have to overfill a lot to cause any damage and even at that I doubt any harm would come of it.
