Haying in Southern New England let's start a thread

Hey guys and gals (no pun intended) I figured I'd start a thread for hay farmers in Southern New England, namely Mass, CT and RI. A general discussion would be cool, informational and hopefully fun. Interesting points, not limited to; general location, equipment used, type of hay harvested, bale type (large/small squares or round) and anticipated time of first and second cutting. Farm size and field acreage would be good too.

Yeah, me too.
About 120 acres per cutting. Small squares, dry rounds and silage rounds. Work a day job so most of my equipment is new.

The fields are coming in nicely. The warm weather the last couple days is helping to dry the soil from all the rain this spring. I'm hoping for a June first cut, we'll see.

Took advantage of the beautiful weather we've had recently. I harrowed a piece of a field I started cleaning up late last summer. I ran the harrow through a few times last season, it's coming out real nice. It was a good day with some seat time.

Went out today and harrowed another piece, had to keep picking up the harrow a bit in sections, grounds still isn't dried out. Just wanted to get things broken up. We're supposed to get rain the next 4-5 days. Hopefully in a month or so I'll be running the rock picker through it.

Nah. Too wet here. Need to spread some fertilizer though. Got manure down where we could this winter. But around the city folk we still need to put down a little help.

Too wet here to get on our hay fields to spread fertilizer without rutting up the fields. I've just been trying to get done what I can. Lots of maintenance related work, it's never ending. One thing for sure though, I don't know how I got along without the RTV, it's turned into the go to maintenance vehicle.
