Anyone have any experience with a 3 point hitch wheel rake? I've only used the bar type rakes in the past, but thinking about purchasing a wheel type. What is the correct technique for using them. A neighbor said he just drops his and drags it, nothing to it...the local implement dealer said to set the teeth to where they are barely touching the ground, who's correct?

Thanks
Steve

You can just drop and rake, but it will break the tines. I try to put enough weight on the tines so that they stay on the ground but not carrying all the weight of the rake.

Thanks, I assume you would want to also increase the angle with heavier hay? How well do these rakes perform with real heavy hay?

Thanks

If in heavier hay, you will need to keep an eye on it. Because, it will ball up the hay, once in a while . The next rake that I get will be a bar rake.
