I've been using a hay cradle for my round bales. Horses like to make a mess with hay. My cows do the same thing at my other farm. My long term plan is to build a fence line feeder with a roof over it so the hay remains dry. I'm also hoping to build a railing that will cut down on how much they pull out and drop on the ground. But for now, I try to clean it up every now and then.

Over the summer, the legs on one side collapsed. This happened on the other side a couple years ago, and I braced them with some old blades from my zero turn. It was easy to put off doing that over the Summer because of the heat, but it's on my list of things to fix this winter.

I've found the grapple to be the fastest, easiest way to clean up the hay. I'm putting it in a big pile, and turning it every now and then to help it break down. The goats and chickens love to play on it. My long term plan is to buy a manure spreader. I just need to pay off the loan on the other farm first.

He usually drives the one ton Dually when he delivers the hay. This was only the second time he brought the 3/4 ton truck. He said he has plenty of power with it, but the rear sure was sagging with all that weight!!!!
