A few weeks a go, my radiator fan was shattered from what I believe to have been a stick that got up there. These are cheap yet, difficult to replace as you have to take the radiator out, things are tight and have to be done in a specific sequence. Completed the replacement of the fan, checked for clearance issues, which were okay, and it shredded the new fan on first start up. Since I did spin the new fan, by hand, with no issues, I'm at a loss as to what I did wrong. It was installed in the same manner as the old one. Will be ordering two replacements. The fan shroud and radiator have different attachment points than the motor. Wondering if I'm putting the fan in backwards, just because that, is how I got it, as a used tractor. I'm putting it in to, suck air through the radiator, front to back. Repair manual is unclear on this point. Could they have been designed to push air to the front? Or something else is going on, like a failed motor mount?

A flow goes front to back. Hard to help from here. Very likely the radiator mounts are bad. Spin the new fan and shake/push the radiator front to back, side to side

Front to Back is correct.

The Water Pump Bearing is good? Not sloppy, and the Belt forcing the Fan down and towards the Alternator?

Something must be contacting the Fan, and I don't think the Rad is strong enough to survive 2 Fans.

Yes the Rad mounts to the Frame, the Frame mounts to the Motor, right back t the Clutch Housing on a 1220. I think thare is even a Bracket Rad-Motor above the Shroud if memory serves me right.

Why not just mount an electric fan in front of the Rad? Might save you a bunch of headaches.

While in disassembly, figured, maybe I'll replace the oil cooler radiator. So I call up New Holland. It takes a long time for them to find the part, cause it is listed as an "OIL conditioning UNIT." This is basically a 10 inch by 3 inch radiator.

Okay..... on honor system, with out attempting to look this up, what is your guess as to how much they are charging for just this part?

You are so much closer than I would have ever guessed. $650. Even the parts guy said, "Are you sitting down?," as he read the number to me. A New Holland Parts person has to be one of the hardest jobs in the tractor industry now. LOL.

I looked at your list of machines, you are familiar with this pricing, I guess. I don't want to get any one in trouble, but most of the times I have dealt with New Holland Parts, even the parts guys would say this is insane, and would suggest some other avenue. There is always the guy working his best, and then there is the Corp that is setting the prices. So I never get mad at the guy on the phone. Usually, we are both astounded. :)

go to a junk yard and look for separate truck oil coolers from trailer packages..

I used to have a dealership and things weren't different then. When you're talking about a 20 year old machine, high prices are not unusual. Deere and Kubota not any different.

I worked with a guy that was with Dodge. He told me about junking V10 engines and transmissions for Stealth and Viper cars.
10 years after the end of production, parts support ends and they throw away inventory to make room for new
