It would only be a guess, but with the chute deflector turned down all the way, myabe 6 to 8 ft.

About how fast are you going while snow blowing? The snow depth looks like it's about 8 inches. I am considering the purchase of a front mount blower and I want to compare the time it takes to plow against the time it might take to snow blow.

Blowing snow away is always slower than plowing. But the big advantage of blowing is that you never have to handle that same snow again. During winters with frequent snowfalls, plowed banks start encroaching the road. Then a lot of time is spent pushing it back in 6 foot chunks. With a blower, once through and you're done. This could be why so many snowblowers are sold in Canada. My 2 cents.

I think the depth was more around 5". Going thu the pines pic I have to go slower cause it is rough so I was probably in 8th at 1600RPM's maybe 5 to 6 MPH. the other pic I am always in 10th at 1600RPM's and about 8 MPH. There is very little strain on the whole machine. Do it once and you are done. I plowed for years and it goes like this, push it way back for the next storm, then find out after 2 or 3 more that you are running out of room, so next push the banks back some nice day when it is warm and thawing cause when it freezes you ain't going to touch it. With a snowblower "once and done"(sorry I got carried away".

I'd say your speed is about the same as mine. I try to go as fast as I can (8 max). That would be perfect for me. At the moment, the banks are getting high and the drive is getting narrow. So I'm forced to make several passes, which takes extra time. If I only made one pass, even if it were 25% slower, I'd still save time by not making multiple passes.

This sounds real good to me. I wonder if I can rent a blower for our next storm...
