Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

I don't think you missed a step. Not to discount CW's claims, but his approach leave's much to be desired. It leads one to believe he may also have been a bit confrontative with his dealer which certainly would have made the dealer a little less supportive. We won't know, even if the thread continued. I support the decision to yank it if purely for the subject line. I think that purely for posterity, a company must remain not only competitive, but honorable as well. Time will tell. Rat...

If that rationale was followed, fairness would dictate that this thread be deleted too /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

Rat, I do think there was a whole lot more to the story but it's a moot point now. As far as flaming, other than the subject line, was done mostly by Kubota owners against CW.

BillyP,

AT the risk of getting this thread deleted too that is simply BS.

People asked for details and when they were not forthcoming turned to skeptisism...can't spell very good, sorry...

I know that thread went kind of wacky, but had CW came back with details in a timely manner, or perhaps posted more politely and with more courtesly, it would not have.

I don't think color has anthing to do with it at all...pick any color and the result would have been the same....

I would suggest you go back and reread the thread and see what you think...but it was deleted rather than closed so that is not possible...too bad...it had some value...

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

That is pretty much what it was all about Green Mountain and exactly why it is titled as it is. Perhaps you have not been here long enough to have seen previous posts with subject lines very similar getting yanked. "Don't buy from ______ Tractor, they are very corrupt." That dogmatic attitude will turn off many folks. Since it is very difficult to prove and few of us would want to allocate our time trying to prove it, I think rather then let every peeved, ticked off or emotional feeling about being wronged be posted, it's better we nip it in the bud. I think discretion is indeed important here and believe that the moderators do a pretty decent job of keeping the place decent, even though they are probably way overpaid. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Rat...

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

( BUT, it was just gettin to the nitty gritty, when it was yanked. I bet, with in 2 more days, we would have known the 'real' story.
)

And that is why we need to be allowed to work these things through. From what I saw, nobody was being profane. Nobody was assailing (p?) others families or relidgion just because they drive a deere or a Kubota. Why do we need to have a thread deleted during a (perhaps heated) discourse. If the guy could bring forth material evidence of wrong doing on Kubotas part, then I want to know. If we pick him apart and he has no defense, then let him (his arguement and claims actually) die.

I have gotten heated a few times on the board, and others have bared with me. Others have gotten heated as well. But NOTHING burns me like censorship. I'm serious,... that really fires my coals.

I'm not trying to bust on Muhammad, But this is how I feel.

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

Well said. I thought CW was just begining to provide the information to back up his statements when the thread was removed. I understood the comments of some members aggressively requesting more information and questioning the source when it seemed to them to take to long in coming. But just when the information they were asking for started to be brought forth the thread is yanked. Whats up with that? I would have like to see that thread played out a bit longer.

Now Bill, cut me some slack /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

( People asked for details and when they were not forthcoming turned to skeptisism...can't spell very good, sorry...)

It was getting there. Who knows, he might have had other things to do besides sit in front of a computer. Heck, he could have been out of town.

( I know that thread went kind of wacky, but had CW came back with details in a timely manner, or perhaps posted more politely and with more courtesly, it would not have)

I agree 100%

( I don't think color has anthing to do with it at all...pick any color and the result would have been the same...)

You're right again.

( I would suggest you go back and reread the thread and see what you think...but it was deleted rather than closed so that is not possible...too bad...it had some value...)

I wish I could and I agree again.

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

I was in favor of removal or re-wording the subject line simply becasue of the subject lines incredibly subjective suggestion, the response's I thought were fine, well with the exception of maybe a couple, none of which warranted stopping it. As far as censorship, if it really, really bugs you that someone censors their own site that they built and paid for, rather then complain about it, maybe it's time to start your own. I've been to a few uncensored sites so full of BS that it really makes it one massive war. I stood by like a reporter watching the place burn from all the flaming. No information was conveyed, but I can bet there were a lot of folks that resented each other. Rat...

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

Oh for crying out loud rat. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Censorship is bad. If you really feel that the thread was that flaming, you are entilted to that position. In my opinion, I think that deletion of a thread should occur only in the worst of circumstances.

It is not occational thread deletion that keeps this site from becoming like the ones you have mentioned, it is the quality people who spend time on this board. If you think about it for a while, I believe you would agree. This board has a superior population of menbers (including, In my opinion... you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif).

Re: Have you had warranty issues? Don\'t Buy John Deere

People will gravitate to the level that is expected of them. If just am thing is allowed, the good people will leave because they won't put up with it and the flamers and the ones that want to fight all the time will congregate here. I for one am glade that the bar is placed high at this site.

Thank You Muhammad
