JD 3720 Cab
Just wanted to say thanks to everybody for all the great information over the years. I have not posted very much but have read along a lot.

The economy has gotten the best of us and the tractor has to go.:( I listed it on tractorhouse.com. Does anybody think E-bay is a good idea?

Any ideas for a quick sale would be appreciated!!!

Thanks, Jon

Jon, ebay is fine if you set up the auction correctly. I bought the JD3520 I have now on eBay and everything went fine. I also sold my older JD870 on eBay. Everything went fine on the sale there too. So, I have seen both ends of buying and selling tractors on eBay. The great thing about eBay is there is NO other way on Earth to reach more people about the sale of your tractor. If you do your listing correctly you will sell you tractor quickly and receive fair market value. Done incorrectly may cost you money and a bad eBay experience. If you need help, contact me at dirtworksequipment@aol.com and I'll do my best to help you with your listing. Good luck!

Sincerely, Dirt

Thanks. I may try to list it on E-bay this weekend. I'll let know you know so maybe you could review it for me.

Sorry it has to go. I've had good luck with craigslist.com. Might also look for local free ad papers. Seems tractors and implements go really quick in those. Best of luck to you.

I agree with craigslist and the local free classifieds paper for selling stuff. Ebay has issues that I don't think are risking. If you don't have allot of experience selling on ebay, I'd avoid that avenue. It's just too risky.

There have been some great threads on here about taking checks and money orders. With mondern technology, printers and scanners, it's just too easy for forge anything except cash. No matter what your price is, the only way to be 100% sure that you are not being scammed is to take cash. If the buyer is local, then going to their bank and getting the check from the teller is probably a safe alternative.

Sorry to hear you have to sell your tractor, but things have a way of getting better with the right attitude and patience. In time, it always gets better.

Eddie

Eddie, thanks for the advice. I know things will get better. We have to sell our house and property. Someday I'll get back in the tractor seat.

I have it listed on Tractorhouse for $30,000.00 which is at least what I have into it. It's a starting point from my end. I am waiting for my house to sell to officially sell the tractor. Then I would sell any implements.
