Have diesel prices dropped below that of gasoline?

I have a new diesel can. I need to fill it up, so I'll check, but haven't noticed low-sulphur diesel being lower than regular gas anywhere.

I have seen it bouncing around below or a little above the cost of gas here lately, western Illinois. We just took a trip to Alabama and the most expensive gas we saw is here at home. Roughly 80 cents a gallon more here than the cheapest we got it for.

On my drive along I30 today, the spread between diesel and regular varied at the same stores from 5-40 cents. Cheapest diesel was 2.99. This was 100% in Texas.

Yes, there used to be a large transatlantic trade in excess US diesel going east to Europe, and excess European gasoline coming back. Then refineRie's improved their catalysts, and tweaked their outputs to better match local markets. I do not think diesel will ever be routinely cheaper on a BTU basis again, but who knows what the impact of electrification will be?

We LOVE the trailer pulling performance of our diesel, but the initial costs, service hassle/cost, and fuel costs we have experienced will have us considering gas on our next truck.

I have seen diesel at or below regular unleaded at some stations, although it is not the norm.

My 1st diesel was a POS 1991 Dodge. The new model Cummings yielded 180 hp and she got 24 mpg with the tailgate down on the open road. Fuel was $0.55 a gallon.

Our gas dropped 3 cents a liter and diesel went up 2.5 cents in NS as of June 9-23
Gas CAN$ 1.529L = US$ 4.30 a US gallon
Diesel CAN$ 1.377L = US$ 3.89 a US gallon

I filled up 2 of my 5 gallon diesel cans yesterday. Diesel was a few pennies higher than 87 octanes gas but quite a bit cheaper than mid grade and premium gas.

Just checked today. Here( Cheney, WA )- both regular gas and road diesel are the same - - $4.69.

In Spokane - - regular gas....$4.29. Road diesel......$4.49.

Interesting that diesel is cheaper than gas in some places. I have not seen diesel cheaper than gas in years, if not a decade or so. Nor I have I seen it cheaper driving from NC to FL.

I was recently in Phoenix.

Gas was around $5, fuel was $3.90

ORD (no highway use tax) diesel here is $3.05 A gallon, regular gas (ethanol) is $3.80.

Diesel here is still $5.29 a gallon, I might have to think about moving to Texas. lol!
Gas (E10) is $4.39 a gallon.
