LT155
I just got my first John Deere, a 12 or so year old LT155. Got it for $360 but no hood at all. I don't really care but will be keeping my eye out for one used. Has anyone ever tried to fudge up something custom? I at least need to get some kind of bumper bar on the front. It's got fresh oil and the guy had three JDs to sell so he seemed to know what he was doing in terms of making sure they're ok. The two deck wheels had been removed and small plates welded over and painted. I have a flat lawn (under 1/2 acre) so I don't think it will be an issue.

My question is that all of a sudden I notice an ad for a JD LT160 that's a 1.5 hr drive away, very cheap. It says the deck doesn't work, and the hood has been smashed but it seems like the pieces are still there.

Mine has the 38" deck which is basically what I want and I bought the mulch kit today. This one has a 42C.

Is it possible to swap engines, transmissions, wheels etc between these tractors?
