I have never gotten a free hat from my dealer (Messick's in E-town Pa) but my Dad and I have always been treated very well.

Johnthomas, you should consider that there might be such a thing as too many hats? (Too many tractors, also?)
Every time I go into my dealer and spend a little money, I get a free hat.
Now that you have two, you can start wearing one! Got lots of hats but nary a new one.

Okay was beginning to worry about you. I feel better now ;-)One of them is pretty ratty looking now, the other is still brand new!
TNSTAAFH. There's no such thing as a free hat.

What kills me is these "pre-stressed" hats they now sell. Saw these at the World AG Expo, for $20 IIRC.
That's a lotta cheddar for a "used" hat.....
Personally, I've never understood the appeal of the pre-stressed look... it doesn't look 'honest'.
As an example, aside from the lovely "free"laughing
dealership lid, I bought a simple black ballcap for working on & around my tractor/property about 2 years ago. This is it after regular wear & at least 3 washings (WELL needed washings!). I'm proud to wear this, even into town, as it's 'earned'.

Kind of guy/hat that would run over your dingy with his yacht!
