Hats Off To Kubota

I have never gotten a free hat from my dealer (Messick's in E-town Pa) but my Dad and I have always been treated very well.

This thread got me thinking... I work for Kubota and the only free hats I've received were from Dealers. I guess I need to work on my relationships with the sales and marketing teams! :thumbsup:

John Deere is the only one who ever gave me a hat.
Only a contractor gave me a free hat when trying to get me to accept his bid. I told him if he could afford to give away free hats he was charging to much.:laughing:

They have the last laugh. You are a walking billboard for them. Why don't companies just lower the price instead of giving mostly useless stuff away?

I got a Kubota hat, which I still have, when the local Kubota dealer closed.

What kills me is these "pre-stressed" hats they now sell. Saw these at the World AG Expo, for $20 IIRC.
That's a lotta cheddar for a "used" hat.....

I bought a new Chevy pu a couple years ago, it was about the cheapest model you could get and I got an excellent cash deal... When I picked it up, the salesman said "here's a hat, and one for your wife too, and here's one for your buddy"... (I was alone)

I thought that was rather nice...

I hope so, James. You have to keep one nice for Sundays and dress-up. My Kioti dealer gave me two of his dealership's hats, and I follow this rule.

Personally, I've never understood the appeal of the pre-stressed look... it doesn't look 'honest'.

As an example, aside from the lovely "free" laughing dealership lid, I bought a simple black ballcap for working on & around my tractor/property about 2 years ago. This is it after regular wear & at least 3 washings (WELL needed washings!). I'm proud to wear this, even into town, as it's 'earned'.
