Dancing Tom? Isn't he still under indictment for money laundering or criminal obnoxiousness or something? Whenever I see him on TV talking he seems to have been into the pickle juice. As of January 2010 the prosecutor has yet to bring it to a jury.
Just because someone in charge says it so, don't necessarily

Alcoa probably promised to put a new refinery in the Prosecutor's home town.

Have you not read of the traditions in Texas politics? I watched a program on the early days of LBJ in Texas politics, it was a hoot. To be fair to Texas, I'm sure it is not unique.

Yea, We Chicagoans used to look to Texas for examples of "good government"

My point being, it was a naked political move on the part of the prosecutor, Again if you are okay with that, that's fine, but it would do to remember after November, the shoe MAY be on the other foot.
And your reference to LBJ reminds me that we may be chanting a phrase from the 60's
"HEY HEY,HO HO, Obama's Got to go!
