I just got a new Northerrn Tool catalog and noticed they have a Nortrac 49" cat 1 tiller, item 51458-2956, for $1249.99. Does anyone use one of these behind say a bx2380 or such?
has anyone used the Northern Tool Nortrac tiller?

It looks like a very light duty design compared to my old 48 inch Maschio tiller!
Perhaps fine for a nice clean garden soil with no rocks, tree roots or rock solid dry clay.

You might want to compare it to this one and see which has the best specs.
The 2380 17 pto horsepower limits your tiller selection.
