Maybe hydraulically powered.

If not, what would be the downside of building one? Thinking about my wife and her having to mow under trees, wondering if there is a better way.. Rear finish means the tractor tires smashed the grass down first. Even mod mount seems to have a tire issue with a couple of friends of mine.

I have been looking for such. One possibility is a front mounted flail mower from a company in Finland called Rammy. It is priced at about 3,300 Euro and I didn't see whether that included shipping, taxes, import duties, etc. It looked like a reasonable, maybe not in price, solution to cutting grass, weeds, small brush on a reasonably steep hill with an ATV. Anybody have any experience with acquiring and using one of these.

Anybody have any experience with acquiring and using a Rammy Flail mower 120 ATV? It looks like the right tool for my job but it seems like a royal pain to actually buy one, and service is a question.

I like my front mount Kubota. I also like my mid mount Grasshopper. There’s advantages to both setups. They’re both better than a MMM which is a clumsy setup. There’s a lot of “that’s the way grandpa did it and that how we’re going to do it” going on in the tractor world. My grandpa didn’t have indoor plumbing, any meaningful heat, refrigeration, electric, air conditioning, chainsaw, tractor, truck with a starter until later in life. Nobody thinks we still need that back.IMG_4526.JPGIMG_4045.JPG

No this does not include the VAT tax, shipping cost to the port of exit, customs broker fees to arrange shipment, insurance for the mower in a mixed freight container to destination, FOB destination shipping from port of entry to destination, shipping company fuel surcharge from port of entry to destination, sales tax on shipping charge, insurance cost for shipment from port of entry to destination, import tariff tax, etc. etc.
Buying and bringing a mower from Europe requires large number of things for a purchase and a six to 8 week shipping time plus a bank draft from an international bank.

You also need to buy a specific sub frame for the mower as well to match your ATV/RTV. The price does not include shipping, customs duties sales taxes.

Any mower you buy for an atv or rtv is going to require a sub frame mount to allow you to use a winch (if you have one already installed) and if you do not have a winch you have to buy one and install it to enable its use to lift and lower a mower.

If you want a mower now you should invest in a locally sourced American made 3 spindle motorized rotary mower for your ATV/RTV that you can mount up front, it will cost you much less money.

I am not sure how much a towed motorized Italian made Peruzzo flail mower would cost to your door from Iowa Farm Equipment but you will spend less money on a 3 spindle rotary mower for your ATV/RTV.

I live on 6 acres in south central Indiana, six very hilly acres with thousands of oak trees, a dam, and a house cut into the side of a hill. The problem I want to solve is cutting a relatively small amount of grass (i.e., less than an acre) that grows on slopes as great as 24 degrees. Also, I want to drag around a dump cart, a dethatching rake, a spreader, and knock down the greenbrier, Japanese stilt grass, assorted weeds, and small bushes growing amidst the trees. I would also like to fetch cut and split firewood from trees that fall [or that I have to cut before they fall on the house]. There are rocks, tree stumps, ravines, downed trees, etc. that I need to either drive over or around so ground clearance is an issue, as well as not sliding down a slope into the lake. I visited a Kubota dealer and saw a BX1860 run along the side of a ditch with a 22 degree slope. The guy was hiking out like he was trying to keep a sail boat from tipping over and the tires were right on the edge of loosing it.

I just found out the Rammy has a dealer in the USA so I am waiting to hear from them where that might be and what the economics of that are. I have a neighbor with a Yamaha Grizzly (i.e., small ATV) who has driven it on my property without problem. Now that might be because he has a pit sticker on it for Indy but that is evidence that such will do the trick.

Thank you.

So, where do I find such a thing? Enquiring minds want to know.

Just for laughs, you should check out a Grillo 10 Climber AWD 27. If Ferrari made a lawnmower, the Grillo would be it.

Thank you.

BTW, that Grillo is 11,000 Euros.
