Has anyone ever broken down the true manufacturing cost of a PT

I am intrigued in the note that PT gets no love from its vendors in quick failures of hydraulics. I ask because I wonder if it is a price point issue or.....

If PT follows the business model the company I worked for followed, the true cost of a PT would be about 30% of the retail purchase price, my guess comes from 20 years of R&D and prototype work on medium/heavy duty commercial vehicles . I would enjoy building a PT from the ground-up but it would probably cost close to $30k by the time I would have it completed, mainly fabrication time and not in material cost.

It is definitely more than 30%. I know on the diesels, that those Deutz motors are very expensive, their cost is more than 25% of the sell price right there.
