Hey Guys,
I had problems with my first Chinese tractor blowing water out the radiator as well. Eventually my radiator got a hole in it, the engine ran hot and I had to replace my Head Gasket. What I am getting at is, I suspect that my original head gasket had a leak from the get go and that was what was causing the water to be blowing out my radiator. I still had problems with the new head gasket leaking, so the mechanic told me to add "Bars Leak" to the coolant system.
I have my 2nd Chinese Tractor now. And as soon as I got it home,, I went to Auto Zone and got me a small container of regular "Bars Leak", and put it in my cooling system from the get go. I keep the level about 1" from the top in the radiator, and so far, not even one drop has came out the overflow.
I use "Bars Leak", in all my liquid cooling systems now, car, truck, motorcycle, etc. The Bars Leak will seal a leak before you ever notice it, and best of all, it will seal a leak around a Head Gasket, if it is not too big. I know that the stuff works, because I installed a water pump on my motorcycle a few years ago. It was seaping coolant around the sealing washer. But after I rode it for a while, the bars leak sealed it tight.
If you try it, just make sure that you don't use too much for your size engine, shake it up really well, and run the engine for a good while after you put it in, so that it gets mixed well with the coolant.
On my First chinese Tractor, I also rigged up a recovery system, using an empty Windshield Washer Fluid container that I got from WalMarts. I got a longer over flow tube. Drilled a hole in the lid on the container to just let the over flow tube pass through to the bottom of the container. Then I went and got another Radiator Cap, that was designed for an over flow system. It worked well and didn't cost me very much at all. The only thing that you need is a place to sit the overflow container on. It must have looked ok as well, because the man that bought the tractor didn't mention anything about it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Have a nice day,
