re Quick Hitch Clearance / Closeout:

I just did HF's 'Check Other Stores'.

Every store in a 200 mile radius from the San Francisco Bay Area - Arcata to Reno to Fresno, 50 stores and including California's Central Valley which is a huge ag area, reports they have the QH in stock. Only one of the 50 shows Limited Stock.

Maybe the closeout is regional???

Post on here showing Speeco's upgrade Top Hook with the offset holes for more clearance.

HF magnet tool bar, cut down and welded on the QH so clips and linch pins don't fall down in the weeds when adjusting the top hook.

Tow bar modified so the trailer ball stays upright. Both ends of the strap are bolted to existing holes.

Temporary rear ballast, when backfilling a trench in a very tight space between barn and fence. I should have also had that towbar on, to get the weight a little farther back and reduce swinging.

It's a wonder .. after many years of the HF Quick Hitch top hook clearance problem .. that HF has still not caused the top hook redesign and offered an "improved" hook for sale?

Several years ago I bought a pair of their solid rubber wheel chocks, and that HF smell was in my pole barn for what seemed like forever. Barn is 50x50 with plenty of ventilation!

Maybe HF is switching around among low-bid suppliers that all build a QH to the same design.

China patent law is unlike US - a design can be considered the national standard for everyone else to copy.

I think a lot of the moderate price brands of QH are all clones of a single design, and it would cost HF extra to specify something non standard.

Agree they should offer an optional extended hook!

they are worth airing out....those heavy rubber HF chocks are great. I use them on my trailers and rv.
but I did let them sit out in the sun for a few days before I put them in rv.

Been my experience that anything made of Chinese rubber stinks at HF....

When you walk in the stores, first thing you smell is the odor...lol

I will say the Titanium 45 amp plasma cutter is a heck of a buy. Light, inverter and comes with a drag shield too. 100 bucks off if you are an ITC member. 45 amps are plenty for 99% of cut work.
