Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Anybody with recent experience with the HF pallet jack? I found a TBN thread from 2011 that gave positive reviews but wonder if the current model is also good.

I just bought 1 a couple weeks ago. I have most of my tractor implements on pallets. I store them on racks when not using them and now I can move them around on the floor with the pallet jack. I couldn't be happier with it so far. I could have chased a few auctions around and bought a better quality one (that was 50% or more worn out) for $75 to $100. That would take time and I wanted it now. I can't imagine I will wear it out with my use. I had a 20% off coupon so was a little over $200.

The son used the Lyxx chain saw today to get down a young tree blocking the security light for a few years one limb at a time. Now I can to better get around at night. It was still showing 4 bars after some usage. I realized how little the saw ran on tasks like that. It is a fast turning chainsaw too. He called it a keeper.

Many thanks, looks like a good bet.

I would never buy a HF pallet jack just because I suspect what poor quality seals they probably use. A non functioning pallet truck is quite annoying. If you have not experienced that, you might not understand my apprehension.

HF has a recall on their Greenwood Propane Torches both with and without igniters.

I bought one of these from HF about 15 years ago and was getting concerned about how brittle the hose seemed. So, I bought a new one, last year, and seems the new one is in the recall.

Thanks, Rick. I have the self-igniting one I bought about 5 years ago. Need to check it when I get home. Haven't had any trouble with it so far.

First 'live' use of the 2K Inverter Generator since I've had it. Utility power's been out for about 2 hours now.

No sooner posted that than it died on me. Went out to check, restarted and it ran fine for a few minutes then died again. Then I noticed the vent lever on the gas cap that has to be open to prevent the vacuum from making it think it was out of gas. Opened that, restarted, ran a few minutes, then utility power kicked back in.

Oh well.
