Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

My eyes are bad. I have one of the magnifying glasses with two alligator clips attached to hold small parts. It's the one I use to read the expiration dates on HF coupons. I also have the round magnifying glass with a smaller higher power magnifier above the handle. The big glass is too weak for me to read the HF expiration dates with the one on the bottom is usually strong enough but not always. I guess some people can read the expiration date with nothing but their eyeballs. Must be nice.

I use my phone's camera and zoom in. Works really well when trying to read the numbers on a wall-wart adapter

All this consternation over no iPhone app. The HFQPDB website works from any internet connection, whether it's Apple or Android. You don't need an app. I go there and save the coupons in my Photos folder so I don't have any internet connection issues while in store.

This may have been mentioned before but it's so good it's worth another look. It's the small size hardwood dolly. The big one is maybe OK but the little one is great and is often on a coupon for $8. I put 350 lbs on one I have in the basement recently and rolled it across the floor. We probably have five of these and use them all. I had 700 lbs of front end weights on one and rolled it across the shop floor with no problem. The small one handles better than the big one.

18 In. x 12 In. 1 lbs. Capacity Hardwood Dolly

^^ I have one big and one small. They're OK, but I have trouble with the casters . They don't roll over even very small things well (guess I need to sweep my floors better ;-) ) and they tend to wander crooked, but it might help to lube them a bit.

Just bought the deluxe face shield to protect my face while grinding. Been looking for a good one to replace my crapson one. This one is way better than the one from Sears.

Yeah, I am a bit of a fan of the wood dollies, and use them until I fab a dedicated properly sized dolly using HF casters. Don't buy the plastic dolly... it broke in half the first time I loaded it.

And yes... sweep your floor. Or do what I do and put my respirator, earmuffs, and safety glasses on and fire up my gas blower and blow the snot out of my garage! Amazing how much dust collects all over the place.

Another vote for the small wood dolly. Yes it needs a relatively clean floor. And the nuts holding the casters on should be secured with Locktite after a while.

And a negative vote for the similar flat plastic dolly. Don't bother. Like dragoneggs, mine broke the first time I used it. I took it back for an exchange and broke the floor sample in by half stepping on it. (180 lbs, its rated 200). Got another wooden one instead. Maybe the plastic one would work for a patio potted plant or something.

I noticed a professional piano mover used a pro-quality twin of the small wooden dolly to move a heavy upright piano. It's easier to tip the small dolly back on two wheels to turn a corner compared to a larger dolly.

Ha ha... I did exactly the same. I didn't return it, just threw it out but I did go back in the store and step on their display and broke it too! Stick to the wooden ones... especially the small ones. Using two on larger stuff works great for maneuverability tight spots.

Wow, am I glad I read that. I had just bought the larger wood one and was disappointed when I saw the coupon for the plastic one. Very happy that I didn't buy one. Using it to move a tractor implement for storage.

Did they ever start restocking the tires and trailer lights that had been pulled for not being DOT compliant? I never had a problem with any of what I bought.
The LED trailer lights are pretty good.
