Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Best thing I've ever bought at Harbor Freight: The Truck Bed Cargo Unloader.

Truck Bed Cargo Unloader

I had to trim the width of the dragsheet to fit my Sport Trac pickup bed. Hauled three loads of mulch Friday and Saturday, easily a half ton each, maybe closer to 3/4 ton. Heavily decomposed and damp, so it was dense. Dumped the mulch out of the bed in two minutes or less by cranking the handle. Another few minutes to rake out the remnants behind the wheel wells. Shocking how well this works. The same chore with a shovel used to take me 30 to 40 minutes, and it was heavy lifting that usually tuckered me out.

Very well made item, and at $32 after coupon, it's an amazing amount of value for the bucks.

I second the truck unloader. I have had a ton of #3 stone that I cranked right off, loads of topsoil, firewood, you name it. Great bang for the buck.

Also great if you have a helper to slowly drive the truck forward while you are cranking. Spreads nice!

I am looking at these: 875 Peak/7 Running Watts, 13 HP (42cc) Generator CARB

but I have an electrical ?- Our well pump has a 220V line with 3 wires/prongs- Ground, +, and neg, and this has a 220V 4 prong outlet- how do I make them compatible?
First there's no + or - in ac.

You have line 1, line 2 and ground. The generator has line 1, line 2, neutral and ground. If you buy an appropriate plug to fit the generator 4 wire receptacle you can leave the neutral out.

One of my Best Buys at HF: 4 inch 1.5 ton pulley. Only $10.40 after 20% coupon!

Just what I needed, to get safely off to the side of a tall leaning tree I needed to pull down. Strapped the pulley to an anchor tree, threaded 50 ft of 3/8 cable through the pulley and back to the tractor over beyond a larger tree, and slowly dragged the butt end of the rotted tree until the top finally came free from a third tree it was tangled up in, and crashed down. No drama. This would have been impossible to do safely without the pulley and cable.

Only one caution: The capacity isn't shown on the pulley. It looks a lot like HF's similar 10 ton pulley but is rated a lot less. HF should label the Safe Working Load on the device.

It doesn't seem like it would even crank with a ton of stone on it. Did it crank harder with all that weight on it?

Yes, but I know I have cranked a very healthy 2/3 yard of crushed 3/4in and had no trouble cranking. I surprised myself. I didn't want to overload it but it worked for me. I was though slanted a little to the downhill when unloading but none the less, impressive.

Works even better if you have a plain plastic bed liner (no rubber floor)
