Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I often need a nut splitter at work. No one there even knew what I was talking about. I told the boss we could probably get a cheap one at HF. To my surprise, they apparently don't carry one. He came in yestrday with one in a package that I swear was labeled "Pittsburg" but looking online this A.M. I don't see them on teir website. This one is identical to the one he got Performance Tool Heavy-Duty Nut Splitter, Model# W88030 | Extractors| Northern Tool + Equipment

I think they remove some items from the website when not in stock.

I've been wanting to go back to HF for a tool box... co-worker has one, works well...

I think that is a pretty classic design for a nut splitter. Of course the quality of the metal and machining would determine just how effective and durable it would be.

I'm not a fan of splitters but I have a Craftsman nut splitter that I bought used about 30 years ago and it's lived a hard life with no problems. In the old days before I discovered alternate methods, I even wailed on it with a sledgehammer. That should not be allowed but I did it. Considering the inconsistencies of Chinese steel and processes to make it, I would choose a USA one.

I haven't used one much, but man, when I did, it was perfect.

Seems like an impact driver (Impact Screwdriver Set with Case) to me. Would rather not use it, but when it's needed, it's THE required tool.
