I think Lowes does sometimes but you get the new generation with out warranty and YMMV depending on store
...and most HF tools are btw. Even the real cheapo Pittsburg hand tools are. It’s the same for HF. (For the tools that are lifetime warranty).
Well, it's about the same as OLD craftsman, but way better than new Craftsman. Now, you cant just take a craftsman tool to a store that sells craftsman, and exchange. How do HF lifetime warranty work. Just exchange a wrench or are there more hoops to jump through. Most of my tools are old Craftsman where you could just walk in and exchange them
Yes and No. You can't just walk in Lowes with your 1980s ratchet and walk out with one. Maybe exact model for model, maybe? Generally now, I think you are suppost to contact Craftsman, and get a replacement; mIt’s the same for HF. (For the tools that are lifetime warranty). I do have a large set of the old craftsman US made hand tools that I bought back in the 1980s. I wonder if they still honor that warranty since craftsman tools are still sold by Lowe’s and Ace Hardware?
They are the same as everyone, Globally sourced. Some in China, some in Taiwan, some in Ustados Unitos, some in India, and apparently some in Denmark (hand saws and chisels)Isn't Cracksman now Chinese? Might as well buy HF as you know where it was made and I don't mean in Ohio either.
The 000 engraving is how they mark the open box stuff so you don't try to get a full warranty or try to trick them... I have a bunch of open box stuff from them so I've seen it before...I bought the 11 amp Hercules corded angle grinder as refurb at half price. Same as new except somebody's initials are engraved on it. This is a near perfect twin to the $100 DeWalt. I love it.

My HF's are each 45 minutes away, so a dedicated trip is required.Just stopped in HF for a screwdriver. Spent $35 on stuff I probably don't need.![]()
Same here I am surrounded by HF stores in all 4 major directions, but they are all 1/2 hr to 45 minutes away.My HF's are each 45 minutes away, so a dedicated trip is required.
