That's why my favorite is the good old original JD quick hitch. Top hook is fixed and has NEVER caused a problem. Just make sure every attachment is QH compatible, which you have to do with any of them.

I can only assume the change was to allow adjustment, but why would they screw up the overall shape of the top hook in the process?
