Had any rain lately

Until the last few days, we've been well below the normal amount of rainfall for the year, but that's rapidly changing. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif We had rain early yesterday morning (and high winds, thunder, lightning, etc.), then it quit for the middle of the day, but came back late yesterday afternoon. Power went off briefly, which let me know the battery's dead in my Tripplite Internet Office UPS. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif And now we're getting a downpour again and have flash flood warnings for the county.

I am cautios not to complain. Last year we had a wet (not this wet) spring. I got a little crazy with the mowing and set it LOW. Then.... it stoped. It didn't really rain at all in July and August.
My grass was toast. So now I am mowing ay 4 (the max0 height. My yard is LUSHHHH.
This is good I guess. And the 4" should cover me should we get a spell. The painter I hired some 45 days ago has still not finished the 3 jobs before mine. This is becoming annoying.

Over seven inches in the last two weeks. But...it hasn't rained in the last three days, so I actually got to mow yesterday. There is nothing prettier than a freshly mowed pasture or lawn. Makes even the ugliest (mine) house look respectable.

Then it gets to Houston and takes a sharp turn to the east so I don't get any! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif The boys at the office stay busy putting out warnings - then I come in the next morning and give 'em crap cause they didn't send any rain to my house. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I'm just 40 miles south of town and the north side of town always gets rain - but I don't --- or seems that way.

We are still in the dry phase, so most everything that falls gets soaked up. It's only a matter of time though before the ground gets saturated and we are slogging around in mud for a month or two. Every day has the potential for rain. Last night I sat on the porch and watched the gray ribbons of rain fall from the sky in most any direction I could look, but it never made it to us. The wind cooled things off nicely though.

Been having rain about every 3 or 4 days this Spring. It is nice not to be in a drought for a change. Everything is green and the lake level stays up. Hopefully July and August will continue this way. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Had any sun lately

rained 22 days out of the 31 last month, on pace for more this month. Yall know its only raining because i am building a house. last year we couldn't have bought rain. ha ha

Shoot there was a big ball in the sky last Friday here in BAMA. They tell me is the sun.... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
We had strech in May were we got 14" of ran 10" of that came in a 2hr down poor one afternoon. The small town of Trussville had water 6' deep in places before it was over. They say it has been 100 years for them sence the last flood of that size.The part I drove thru,main street had close to 2' at the time and rising...

now of course its rainning more...
I wonder if my Explorer floats well enough to mount an out board to the hitch... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here I thought spring is the rainy season? I mean they do call it April Showers after all......
