Guage question

Wayne County Hoses has me on a quest, and I was just looking at Guages for a project.

Wondering if someone can tell me the difference between Liquid, Glycerine and dry guages (OK, I get that it is different fluid but why and how do you apply it in tractor systems).

The liquid filled (usually filled with glycerine) gauges are better for mobil equipment because the liquid helps dampen vibration. It makes it easier to get a good gauge reading if the needle is not shaking like a dog ****ing a bone.

Liquid gauges take pressure spikes better then non-filled gauges too. That extends their life considerably. They are also much more accurate.

Do yourself a favor too, for accuracy sake. If you have a system that runs in the 1500 psi range, make sure you get a gauge that goes from 1000 to 2000 psi. You always want your operating pressure to be in the middle of the gauges range, and that gives you the best accuracy.

Only about $7 at AgriSupply.

$2 for dry and $9 for glycerine, last time I checked. They also replaced
a leaky glycerine guage no questions asked.
