Gt2544 on goes slow forward

I have a gt2544 hst trans with 414 hours on it. It will not go forward very fast. Reverse is still good but it is very slow in forward. I have changed the hst filter and topped off the oil but no change. Any ideas as how to adjust something??
Or is it time for a trans fix or swap? Thanks in advance for any help ideas.

If it goes full speed and power in reverse, it's got to be a linkage adjustment issue, or a worn plastic bushing for the forward pedal mechanism.

I don't have specifics on how to adjust having never had to do one on a 2544.

Most of the Cub mowers use the 2-pedal control for the hydrostatic drive. The linkage adjustment is a balance between the forward and reverse speeds. If you shift the linkage to the point where the reverse speed is just tolerable you will achieve the maximum forward speed. I showed pictures of a slight pedal modification I made a few years ago on my 3235 to lengthen the reverse pedal travel so I was able to adjust for a little more forward speed.

OK, these 2 pages from the GT2544 manual are aimed at issues where neutral isn't neutral, but they do show all the parts and tell what direction to turn what.

You guy's are a life saver. I did find the adjustment rod and adjusted it a little at a time and it worked. You guy's saved this mower from being a parts mower. Thanks again for the advice. :thumbsup:

Make sure the plastic bushings (mentioned earlier) are not missing. They are on the ends of the two 'pivot rods' that run from side to side (at least on my 2523). I was missing one on the front rod (for the front pedel) and effectivly lost some of the forward pedle movement.
