GT2544 deck belt question

I have noticed that too. I was worried about the deck belt rubbing on that bracket. Once the deck is installed it is in the proper place. I have never replaced the deck belt and mine is 8 years old.

Well I went out and mowed with it a couple nights ago. I ran out of gas about 15 min later and while filling up I checked the belt again. It was not rubbing any longer, so I have to assume it self adjusts...
