GT2542 Owners!! Do you like your tractors??

I have the 2005 version of the 2542 (2042). I love mine. I have used a plug aerator with no problems and bought a johnny bucket and used that to spread 12 yards of mulch. These machines will do a lot more than mow grass. I too looked at the 1000 series, I would not have been able to do all the things I wanted with one. I actually want a CUT, but can't justify spending that kind of money, so I will just enjoy my 2042.

And I have the year behind that, 2180 w/42" deck. You are right, they can do a heck of a lot of work. The 2000 series are tough tractors. Aerators are nothing for them. I'd love to get a JBjr, my yard takes 11 yards of mulch, its a lot to spread. I bought a 1515 in 2002, sold it two years later. I love my 2180, its got gobs of power and can work with the best of them. I plan on riding this one into the ground. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's great some fellows have cool wives who will simply listen to reason on a major purchase /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif There are those who when the guy wants to buy something good, in order to get beyond a cheapo CC LT1000 they have to submit to the wife a 10 page cost justification report in triplicate that is approved, signed and notarized by documented experts in the field of what it is they want to buy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif If approved, that is to be followed by a shiny gift to the wife of equal or greater value than the new tractor that is NOT a household appliance /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The battle isn't over yet, but my equal-to, or greater-than gift is a 9 day trip to Disney World. How about them apples... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
It will be fun, but I have two small children, a three year old, and a seven year old. The little guy loves to run, and will probably have to be pushed all over the parks. Although, I'll get some relief from my 7 year old. He likes to help out.
But to me, to have a GT2542 sitting in my garage is priceless.
