I'd like to hear what the GT2542 owners are saying about their tractors. What do you like or dislike about them? I had another question about the GT series. Can the snow blade be angled from the seat? I greatly appreciate any input.

I love my GT2542.

I bought my snow blade used and never installed it yet...so I don't know if you can angle it from the seat or not.

I use the tractor with AG tires and a Johnny Bucket Jr. The tractor has plenty of power and the work it does really amazes me. I have a 16x32 inground pool, in one day I excavated three sides of the pool 42 inches wide by 4 inches deep. The forth side was excavated 10 ft wide 50 ft long 4 inches deep.

I purchased the tractor with a snowblower, my driveway is over 100 ft long and the parking area is approx 30ft x 40ft, it removes the snow effortlessly.

I also installed a electric sleeve hitch with a box blade.

Oil changes and grease job are very easy to perform.

I have no dislikes concerning the tractor.

This tractor was purchased to do much more than mow my lawn, it's an amazing Garden Tractor.

Good Lord.. Will you just go out & buy one already?!? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif At this point you've posted this SAME question for just about every model LT/GT CC produces! You cant loose. If you don't like it, sell it the next season & recoup most of your money!

G/luck

Rocko, is that sleeve hitch the one from eBay? If so, how does it perform? Worth the money? Any ground clearance issues?

Yes it is the one from ebay.

It works very well, is well constructed and has no clearance issues.

There are a few things I must add.....

1. I had a rear mounting plate made from 1/4 inch steel. I did not like the mounting points for the "stock" setup.

2. It took TWO MONTHS for the hitch to arrive after ordering it.

3. The supplied wiring harness is too short to install it on the dash.

4. The toggle switch has No rubber boot/cover.

You gotta understand JTKub the difference between a GOOD tractor and a throwaway is not easy to explain to the wife... she just sees the Cub yellow and white and to her they are all the same. Shaft drives and heavy duty hydros as Tim Allen explained in Home Improvement are not items in the woman vocabulary, so justifying them and their added costs often takes multiple internet forum responses to make the expense justified /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I explain them as the difference between diamond and cubic zirconia /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It's hard work, believe me!

If you think you have it bad, Joel, how would like to be the local CC Dealer?? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I've sat on and played with most of the tractors on the floor. I have two young children, and they too were all over the tractors. So you have it easy! The saleman is super nice, thank goodness! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I really appreciate all of your responses. It gets the posting juices flowing.
I'll give it a rest. My wife found an old used 2100 series CC on Ebay...but belive me, I'll fight for a new one. Thanks again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Heheee.. Oh the poor CC shop! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I can relate. I have 3 little ones. 4yrs, 2yrs and 6mo old. The missus was very easy to convince as I was about to fire-bomb the yard machines LT I had. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif She would have let me spend what ever it took, I just couldn't justify more than what the 2544 cost. She's just as bad as I when it comes to browsing thru a show room.

When I was shopping last year, I was thinking about getting a 1000 or 1500 series. When my wife heard the cost, she asked how much more was a 2500. When she found out the life expectancy of a 1000/1500 vs. a 2000/2500 and the cost difference, she told me that I was getting a 2550 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
